What an architect resume has to prove

That you can carry work at a specific phase, on a specific kind of building, in the software the firm runs. That is what a principal staffs for, and it is what most architecture resumes leave vague.

Building type is the first filter. A firm with a healthcare backlog wants healthcare hours, and "a variety of project types" tells them nothing. Phase is the second: someone who has only worked schematic design is a different hire from someone who has taken a set through permit and answered RFIs on site.

Licensure is the third, and it is not pass or fail. A designer with an open NCARB Record, real AXP hours and several ARE divisions passed is a known quantity with a timeline, so state it precisely.

Phases, titles and the portfolio (the part people get wrong)

Write each role by building type, then by phase, then by what you personally produced. Four things decide whether the resume works.

Name the phases. SD, DD, CD, bidding and CA. Say which you have worked and what you made in them: sheet sets, assemblies, details, permit submissions, RFI responses. This is how firms read seniority.
Give the scale. Square footage or construction value ranges, plus how many projects you carried at once. Three small projects run and one large one supported are different hires.
Use the title your state allows.
