Resume for Warehouse Jobs: Format, Template and Examples

A warehouse resume puts equipment and certifications near the top, then gives four lines per job: volume, accuracy, equipment and safety. Shift availability goes in the contact block. This page gives you the keyword table, two worked examples and a blank template.

What a warehouse resume has to prove

That you move volume accurately, on the equipment they run, on the shift they need covered, without getting hurt. Four things, and most warehouse resumes prove none of them.

The typical page says picked and packed orders, operated a forklift, maintained a clean work area. Every applicant wrote that. A supervisor is looking for a number they can picture: how many units an hour, what accuracy, which truck, in what aisle width, on which shift.

Warehouse hiring also moves fast before peak season, so equipment and certifications sit above your job history here, not buried at the bottom under education.

Warehouse resume keywords worth having on the page

Seven groups. Name the ones that are true for you in the same words the job ad uses.

Forklift certification, pick rates and safety (the part people get wrong)

Three sections carry a warehouse resume. Here is how to write each one so it survives a fast read.

  • Forklift certification. Under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(l), your employer trains, evaluates and certifies you on the trucks you operate, and re-evaluates at least once every three years. There is no transferable national card, so write the truck type and class, the employer who certified you, and the year. Naming the specific truck matters more than the word certified, because job ads ask for a reach truck or an order picker, not for forklift experience in general.
  • Pick rates. Give the number the way your site measured it and pair it with accuracy. 190 units per hour at 99.6 percent accuracy is a complete claim. 190 units per hour on its own invites the reader to assume you were fast and sloppy. If your warehouse never shared your rate, use volume per shift and the shift length instead, which the reader can convert themselves.
  • Safety record. Say something checkable. Time without a recordable incident, audits passed, a safety committee seat, daily pre-shift equipment inspections, lockout tagout training. Safety focused is filler. An incident-free record with a time period attached is the line that gets you called.

One more thing that catches people out: put your shift availability in the contact block, not at the bottom. Sites hire to cover a shift, and a night and weekend line at the top can move you ahead of a stronger candidate who only wants days.

Also driving between sites or doing route work? The resume for a delivery driver covers the on-the-road version of this page: stops per day, license class, and vehicle types.

Build yours

  1. Step 1, collect your numbers before you write. Units or lines per hour, accuracy percentage, pallets or trucks per shift, aisle width, equipment hours, incident record, cycle count results. Ten minutes of remembering makes the rest of the page write itself.
  2. Step 2, copy the exact equipment words from the job ad. If it says reach truck and cherry picker, those words go on your page. If it names a WMS, and you have used it, say so in the systems block.
  3. Step 3, check the match. Paste the ad and your draft into the free ATS match check to see the missing keywords, in about 30 seconds and at no cost.
  4. Step 4, lay it out in the builder. It handles the single-column, ATS-safe formatting and exports a clean PDF in about five minutes. The AI resume builder turns your raw numbers into bullets so you edit rather than write from scratch. No signup needed.
